This practice plays a vital role in protecting one of Zululand’s most important rhino populations. When conservation operations allow, guests may have the opportunity to observe a rhino notching or dehorning procedure carried out by experienced wildlife veterinarians and conservation teams. These interventions support long-term monitoring, security, and the ongoing survival of rhino on the reserve. This is a paid conservation experience and must be arranged and confirmed well in advance, subject to conservation needs and operational availability.
