Set within the Munyawana Conservancy on Zuka Private Game Reserve in Northern Zululand, Sungulwane feels wonderfully remote – yet it’s easy to reach, just 10km off the N2.

Most international guests arrive via Johannesburg (O.R. Tambo – JNB) or Cape Town (CPT), then connect onward. If you can get a direct international flight into Durban (King Shaka – DUR), that’s often the smoothest route for KwaZulu-Natal.
From there, you have a few practical options. We recommend guests allow a comfortable buffer on travel days, especially when connecting between international and domestic flights.
This is the most direct “fly + transfer” combination for Sungulwane. From Richards Bay, you’ll continue by road to the reserve. (The lodge is approximately 1.5 hours from Richards Bay Airport.)
Durban gives you flexibility with flight schedules and car hire options, then an easy drive north.

As part of a protected reserve, there are controlled access procedures. Guest vehicles/transfers may need to be reported to the gate prior to arrival, including guest name and vehicle registration details.
