The Munyawana Conservancy is home to a remarkable variety of wildlife, including:
Cheetah sightings here are famous, while the region’s more localised bird species – Eastern Nicator, Bearded Scrub Robin, Pink-throated Twinspot, Gorgeous Bushshrike and African Broadbill – delight birders from around the world.
The conservancy was selected as the first private reserve in South Africa to receive black rhino, an historic initiative that has since strengthened populations and enabled relocation to other protected areas.
The introduction of Tembe’s large-tusked elephants has enriched the genetic diversity and stability of the local elephant population.
Conservation here is a shared commitment that protects species, uplifts communities and preserves this wilderness for generations to come.
Our beekeeping initiative supports healthy ecosystems by protecting vital pollinators that sustain indigenous plant life across the reserve. By working in harmony with nature this project contributes to biodiversity conservation. Here, even the smallest species plays a meaningful role in preserving the balance of this wilderness for generations to come.
